A question to reflect on – How can I stretch myself this week?

It’s easy to stay in your comfort zone.  it’s safe there.  It’s comfortable there.  You know what to do and how to do it and your brain likes that.

But you don’t grow when you stay in your comfort zone.

And, as the saying goes – ‘you are either green and growing or ripe and rotting’.

Growth is one of our core needs as humans.  And, when you neglect this need, it can show up as symptoms such as a lack of motivation, feeling stuck or lacking passion.

Symptoms I saw in a new client this week. He had no goals and no direction.  He was way to comfortable which left him feeling like there was nothing to look forward to each day – it was groundhog day in day out.  And this showed up as a lack of motivation, a complete feeling of being stuck and him desperately wanting to find something he felt passionate about.

Look, I get it. It can feel uncomfortable to step outside your comfort zone into the unknown.  If that’s the case, then start small by asking:

How can I stretch myself this week?

So, how will you stretch yourself?

Will it be putting your hand up for a new project, reaching out to make a new connection, learning a new skill, developing yourself?
